Job Title: Incident Command Technical Writer

Salary: £33,366 per annum (+Trainer Allowance) (rising by annual increments to £36,124)

Hours: Full Time - 37 hours per week (including various evening and weekend commitments)
Location: Command Suite, Salisbury Fire Station
The service encourages flexible working and is open to discussing flexible working options. The role will be based at Salisbury Fire Station with the flexibility to work from home, DWFRS Stations, or Support Offices. We welcome discussions on what flexible working arrangements will work best for you. Attendance at your base location for daily/weekly meetings and training across the service area is required.

Role Responsibilities:
* Design multimedia training and assessment materials for Operational Competence, including virtual systems, scenarios, syndicate packages, and e-learning modules in various formats.
* Assist in training and assessing Operational Competence processes, ensuring compliance with service standards, including Operational Licence courses and feedback mechanisms.
* Install and maintain IT hardware and software, troubleshoot faults, and liaise with I&CT Unit or external specialists as needed.
* Represent DWFRS at internal and external conferences and training events regionally and nationally.
Ideal Candidate:
* Meets all essential criteria outlined in the person specification.
* Possesses excellent communication and presentation skills, with a positive attitude towards customer care.
* Has experience in organizing and delivering training, and developing training resources.
* Experienced in designing multimedia packages, including virtual assessment and e-learning systems.
* Willing to work towards a level 3 educational teaching qualification and an assessor qualification (A1 or equivalent).
Additional Information:
* Willing to undertake physical tasks, including manual handling and outdoor work.
* Capable of fulfilling travel requirements for meetings and training across the area, including occasional regional and national events.
* Some evening and weekend work may be required, up to once a week for evenings and once a month for weekends.
* A standard DBS check will be conducted before employment.

* Trainer allowance is 10% of salary, rising to 15% after one year (pensionable).
