At Middlesbrough College we're on the lookout for a driven Business Development Executive to champion our mission and expand our reach across the North East. Increase awareness of the Northern Skills brand through focused telesales and targeted marketing campaigns.Engage with employers to promote our apprenticeship programmes, skills boot camps, and bespoke training services. Build and nurture strong partnerships with schools, local careers services, and referral agencies to support learner recruitment and employer engagement. Work closely with employers to understand their workforce needs and deliver recruitment solutions that are impactful, professional, and learner-focused.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Business Development Executive, you will:
Conduct high-volume outbound telesales calls to employers across the region to promote apprenticeships, boot camps, and bespoke training solutions.
Develop and execute a localised marketing plan to promote Northern Skills and its services across Tyne and Wear, Durham, and Northumberland.
Build and maintain relationships with key contacts in schools, local careers services, and referral agencies to support employer engagement.
Actively monitor, update, and maintain CRM systems to ensure accurate tracking of employer interactions and lead progression.
Work closely with the wider apprenticeships and training teams to ensure a seamless handover of qualified leads.
Demonstrate a commitment to our Equality and Diversity policy, quality frameworks, and health and safety procedures.
What We're Looking For
We seek candidates who:
Have a Grade 4/C or above in Maths and English, or an equivalent qualification.
Possess experience in marketing, promotions, or sales-related roles.
Are committed to undertaking any mandatory training relevant to the role.
Have knowledge of apprenticeships and employer engagement strategies (desirable).
Have experience in education recruitment (desirable).
Hold a full, up-to-date driving licence, with the ability to travel across Tyne and Wear, Durham, and Middlesbrough if required.
