Responsibilities
* Maintain a safe, clean and hygienic kitchen, following all Health & Safety and food hygiene standards.
* Prepare high‑quality food to company and contract specifications, keeping accurate HACCP records.
* Manage ingredients responsibly, ensuring correct storage and temperature control.
* Work closely with senior chefs to support daily production and maintain food quality.
* Help receive and check deliveries when required.
* Keep all work areas clean, tidy and well‑organised at all times.
* Maintain excellent personal hygiene and professional standards.
* Communicate production updates and wastage information clearly.
* Take part in training and team meetings to support your development.
* Contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment.
* Report any safety issues, accidents or irregularities immediately.
* Operate kitchen equipment safely and according to training.
Qualifications
* Prior staff supervision or line management experience.
* Strong knowledge of fresh produce and ingredient preparation.
* Understanding of health and safety regulations and the ability to enforce them.
* Ability to work under pressure in a busy kitchen environment.
* Positive leadership, professionalism, and a passion for food.
* Hold basic food handling certifications, including NVQ Level 2 and Level 2 Food Safety Certificate.
* At least one year of hands‑on cooking experience (Training in Food Hygiene and Health & Safety provided).
