Job Description:
Purpose
The Mechanical Supervisor is a key role within the Maintenance team to support the safe operation of assets, plant productivity, and reliability. As the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, you will:
* Report directly to the Maintenance Manager and oversee Mechanical Technicians and Shift Technicians.
* Be responsible for all mechanical maintenance tasks, ensuring safety standards and regulatory compliance.
* Work closely with operations to meet quality standards relating to ISO certifications and cGMP, including contamination prevention.
* Manage mechanical maintenance activities, ensuring timely and safe completion of tasks.
* Collaborate with Planning & Scheduling and Site Engineers to improve plant reliability.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Accountabilities
Maintain health, safety, and environmental standards during maintenance activities. Manage all mechanical work, including breakdowns, preventive maintenance, compliance, and defects, ensuring work orders are closed in the CMMS system.
* Assign work to the Maintenance team, review and issue work packs, and ensure RAMS are adequate.
* Monitor work progress and communicate updates.
* Take responsibility for priority work from defect detection to completion, including raising PRs and organizing resources.
* Document and close out work within the Maintenance Management System.
* Manage team timekeeping, holidays, disciplinary matters, and deputies.
* Coordinate with the Maintenance Planner to develop job packs and schedules.
* Contribute to root cause analyses and follow-up actions for equipment performance.
* Provide first-line problem solving for mechanical faults.
* Participate in continuous improvement activities, including raising and executing PMs.
SHEQ
Ensure all Environmental, Health & Safety requirements are met. Promote a positive safety culture, report accidents or near misses, and share good practices.
Equipment
Ensure timely completion of PMs, compliance, and regulatory work orders. Supervise technicians, support projects, and liaise with OEM contractors for inspections and future PM planning.
