An opening has arisen for a time-served multi-skilled technician to join the on-site maintenance team at Stepping Hill Hospital.
The post holder will be responsible for operational maintenance duties, including reactive and planned maintenance of electrical distribution and systems across the Trust’s premises, including specialist healthcare systems such as IPS and UPS.
Systems and equipment such as Nurse Call, Lifts, BMS, and Pneumatic Tube System will be under your responsibility, which will include some basic mechanical work.
The ideal candidate will have a recognised electrical apprenticeship, including City and Guilds and NVQ level 3 qualifications. Additional experience with Building Management Systems, mechanical systems (including steam raising and pressure systems) will be a distinct advantage.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, with excellent communication skills, capable of working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe and effective maintenance solutions.
There will be a requirement to work overtime, both rostered and ad-hoc, at short notice to meet the needs of the Trust. The role also involves being part of the on-call response team to assist out-of-hours staff as required.
As part of this multi-skilled role, there is an expectation to support other disciplines and take maintenance responsibility for systems such as Lifts, BMS, and Pneumatic Tube System, including some basic mechanical work.
