Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated Research Assistant to join the Carnegie School of Sport at Leeds Beckett university, contributing to an innovative industry-collaborative nutrition research project focused on developing and evaluating a novel functional dairy product designed to support muscle and brain health in ageing populations. The successful candidate will play an important role in delivering a human nutrition study investigating the absorption and effectiveness of key bioactive nutrients of an enhanced dairy product.
Responsibilities
* Support the day-to-day running of the project, including participant recruitment, scheduling, data and sample collection and analysis, and study documentation.
* Work closely with academic and technical staff, ensuring the smooth and compliant delivery of all study procedures in line with ethical and regulatory requirements.
* Gain experience in an industry–research related setting and in an industry–academic research collaboration.
Qualifications
* Degree in nutrition, sport and exercise science, physiology, or a related discipline (or possess equivalent experience).
* Experience working with human participants in a research or clinical setting, including competence in venepuncture and cannulation.
* Understanding of research governance, data protection, and ethical procedures, alongside excellent organisational and communication skills and strong attention to detail.
* Ability to work collaboratively and effectively within a multidisciplinary research team.
