Our client a leading regionalfirm recognised for its full range of legal services forindividuals and businesses are seeking a qualified solicitor/CILEXto join their growing WTP (PostDeath) team. The ideal candidatewill be NQ3 years PQE and either hold a STEP membership or be keento work towards this accreditation.
KeyResponsibilities:
* Sometaking of instructions and preparation of Wills LPAs and generalPoAs.
* Workloadwill predominately involve Probate and administration of estatesfrom the basic (below IHT threshold) to the more valuable/taxableestates involvingIHT400s.
* Abilityto administer estates where the deceased has died intestate and agood understanding of the intestacy rules and procedures.
* Understanding of trusts and basic principles of tax affectingtrusts upon creation and during the lifetime of thetrust
* Basicunderstanding of the set up and administration of Life Interesttrusts and Discretionary trusts following a death where such trustsare to be found in a deceasedWill
* Awarenessand experience of issues affecting the older client in particularand understanding the Court of Protection and Deputy shipwork
Requirements
* NQ3years PQE (Solicitor of CILEX).
* STEP membership is highlydesirable but not essential.
* Good teamplayer selfsufficient and selfsupporting.
* Ability todeal with clients from a broad demographic from the more modest tothe high net worth.
* Willingnessto get to get involved in networking and business developmentactivities where the opportunity presents itself and be a greatambassador for the hiring firm in general.
* Awarenessof opportunities to crossrefer work within the department and alsoto other departments within the firm.
* Ability towork calmly and methodically under pressure.
