About the Role:
Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and passionate Sociology & Criminology Teacher to join a fantastic secondary school in the L17 area starting in September 2025. As one of the fastest growing agencies in the UK, we are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic educator. A successful applicant will have a teaching qualification with QTS.
Teacher of Sociology & Criminology
Location: L17
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Temporary, Long Term
Working Hours: Full time, 8:00am –
Pay: Paid to scale
Key Responsibilities:
1. Demonstrate thorough curriculum knowledge and take responsibility for the progress of students. You may also be asked to teach Psychology and/or another subject at KS3 such as History or
2. Establish a safe and interactive environment for pupils.
3. Be aware of pupils’ capabilities and their prior knowledge of the subject, and plan teaching around this.
4. Differentiate teaching methods for students individual needs.
5. Have effective behaviour management
Requirements:
6. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with related degree
7. Proven experience teaching in a UK secondary school.
8. Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable, but not essential as training can be provided).
9. Right to Work in the UK.
10. Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or willingness to apply for a new one.
11. Ability to provide two professional references/cover the last 2 years.
