As we continue to grow, we're looking for an Assistant Production Manager to join our factory leadership team and help drive safe, efficient and high‑quality production across our manufacturing facility in Driffield, East Yorkshire.

As the Assistant Production Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the factory teams to deliver the agreed production plan, ensuring safe, efficient, timely and high‑quality outputs. You will plan, coordinate and optimise people, processes, materials and equipment to meet delivery targets within agreed labour and material budgets.
You will play a key role in maintaining Reds10's high standards of quality, safety, professionalism and continuous improvement across the factory.

Key Responsibilities
Production & Quality Management
Deliver all agreed scope within the required timeframes, budgets and waste‑reduction targets.
Ensure all works comply with design information, specifications, Reds10 SOPs and QA/QC processes.
Observe and record all factory hold points.
Drive continuous improvement across factory processes.
Planning & Resource Coordination
Prepare daily, weekly and fortnightly look‑ahead plans.
Ensure materials, tools and access equipment are requisitioned in a timely manner.
Work closely with Procurement and Stores to avoid shortages or delays.
Manage daily labour planning within budget while minimising overtime.
Leadership & Team Management
Lead daily safe starts, stand‑ups and briefings.
Inspire and motivate factory teams, ensuring performance, wellbeing and safety.
Manage training needs and ensure operatives maintain required skillsets.
Chair weekly supervisors' meetings and provide clear communication at all times.
Safety, Standards & Compliance
Ensure the factory maintains high levels of cleanliness, safety and professionalism.
Ensure all operatives are working safely and that inspections for equipment and tools are completed.
Uphold Reds10 brand, quality and health & safety standards.
Performance Improvement
Monitor and manage the performance of each factory cell (time, productivity, cost, quality, H&S, carbon reduction).
Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Resolve production issues through collaboration with Design, Quality and other cross-functional teams.
Lead on waste reduction and lean manufacturing initiatives.

Key Skills & Experience
We're looking for someone who has:
Technical Skills
Experience in MMC, assembly line manufacturing or similar environments.
Knowledge of steel fabrication/bolting, light gauge steel assembly, joinery/furniture manufacture, dry lining or related construction trades.
Experience operating plant/machinery (e.g., table/cross‑cut saws) and power tools.
Understanding of production management principles and best practices.
Relevant training/qualifications (H&S, quality, management, first aid, etc.).
Leadership & Behavioural Skills
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent communication, motivation and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Skilled at problem-solving, decision-making and conflict resolution.
Organised, reliable, punctual and able to adapt to changing priorities.
Empathetic, approachable and a strong team player.
Able to mentor and support apprentices through training programmes.
