The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Medical services at the QEUH for a highly motivated Charge Nurse to provide leadership and ensure high quality, safe, effective, person‑centred care in one of our Acute Respiratory wards, which specialises in Cystic Fibrosis and Pulmonary Hypertension. In addition, the role supports patients with a wide range of respiratory disorders and lung cancer. The charge nurse will lead the wider team on a daily basis, supporting effective care planning and safe discharge. The role will provide learning opportunities for all staff, encouraging best practice to deliver high quality patient care in line with NHS GGC Care Assurance Standards. It is responsible to the Senior Charge Nurse for clinical guidance and professional management and will manage the ward and deliver care assurance standards in the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse. Demonstrated effective leadership, communication and organisational skills are essential.
