We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Part-Time Teacher of Business and/or Economics. This will be on a one-year contract initially, with the potential for extension.
We are looking for a suitably qualified practitioner to join an innovative and successful department. The role would suit an energetic teacher committed to the highest standards of teaching and learning; a teacher who can inspire and challenge all our pupils.
Shiplake College is an independent boarding and day school for around 580 pupils aged 11 to 18, with a fully co-educational environment since 1998. The College offers a rigorous education in a small-class setting and a supportive working environment.
Responsibilities
* Teach GCSE Business (Key Stage 4) and A-level and BTEC Business, and/or A-level Economics (Key Stage 5).
* Strive for excellence in all aspects of teaching practice and create a rigorous learning environment for pupils.
* Contribute to the wider life of the School (e.g., tutor duties and participation in the co-curricular programme).
* Be prepared to teach on one or two days on a reduced timetable.
Qualifications and Experience
* Suitable qualified practitioner with the ability to teach Business and/or Economics at relevant Key Stages.
* All levels of teaching experience considered, including early career teachers.
* A passion for the subject and a clear commitment to high standards of teaching and pupil engagement.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people; DBS checks and relevant screening will be required.
