Electronics Production Engineer (Manufacturing & NPI)

Laboris Solutions is working with a fast-growing, privately-owned UK technology company, built on innovation originating from Oxford University. With a strong international presence, they design and deliver advanced equipment that improves safety in hazardous industrial environments.
They are looking for an experienced Electronics Production Engineer to play a key role in manufacturing, new product introduction (NPI), and continuous improvement. This is an exciting opportunity to work cross-functionally and influence the full product lifecycle—from design validation through to scalable production.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to transition products from design to production
* Support new product introduction (NPI) activities, ensuring smooth and efficient product launches
* Liaise with contract electronics manufacturers (CEMs) and support production readiness (occasional travel required)
* Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation: assembly drawings, work instructions, and test procedures
* Review designs for design for manufacturability (DFM), reliability, and failure modes (FMEA)
* Support development of automated production test systems and fixtures
* Contribute to and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), including process and documentation improvements
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis, and problem-solving in production environments
Qualifications & Experience
* HNC (or higher) in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline
* Minimum 3+ years’ experience in electronics manufacturing, production engineering, or hardware engineering
* Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and technical documentation skills
Required Skills
* Proven experience in electronics manufacturing and production processes
* Experience working with embedded systems / embedded firmware-based products
* Strong board-level debugging and fault-finding skills using standard lab equipment
* Hands-on experience with new product introduction (NPI) and resolving production issues
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
Desirable Skills (Advantageous)
* Experience designing automated test fixtures (e.g., scripting, PLCs, or custom test systems)
* Familiarity with CAD tools (Altium Designer, SolidWorks)
* Programming experience (C, C++, C#, Python) for test or automation
* Understanding of Windows/Linux system administration
* Exposure to lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies

Location Requirement:
This is an on-site role based in Oxfordshire. Candidates must be located within a 45-minute commute.
