Job Title: VMT (Vehicle Maintenance Technician) Area: Leicester Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday (Days) Back Shift Mon to Fri 11am till 10pm Permanent Salary: £43,108 PA Basic, £19.51 PH Overtime Extra at X1.5 Holidays: 25 days plus Bank Holidays, increasing per year worked Responsibilities As a VMT you will be responsible for carrying out general maintenance and repair work on the company's fleet of vehicles and trailers, ensuring that all vehicles are in safe working order.
Its crucial that all repairs are performed in accordance with current Health and Safety legislation and company policies.
Additionally, you will need to safely operate all relevant equipment, machines, and tools, and complete all associated documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
Key Skills & Knowledge The ideal candidate should hold education to City & Guilds standard in Mechanical Engineering or possess an equivalent engineering discipline.
Previous experience as an HGV Mechanic in a similar role is essential.
While it is preferable to hold an HGV CE licence (Class 1) and a current ADR, these are not mandatory.
You should demonstrate a strong working knowledge of vehicles, trailers, workshop plant, and equipment, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic problems.
