This role offers an opportunity to join our dedicated breast imaging team as an enthusiastic, highly motivated Band 6 mammographer. You will support our Breast Screening Service in Dudley, Wolverhampton and South Staffordshire, covering assessment centres at Russells Hall Hospital, New Cross Hospital and Cannock Chase Hospital, as well as three static screening sites and three mobile units.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform all duties expected of a Band 6 mammographer, including screening, diagnostic and fracture work.
* Use current experience in mammography and maintain competence through the Certificate of Competence in Mammography.
* Manage and prioritise workload effectively.
* Contribute to quality assurance programmes and continuous professional development.
* Work within and supervise a team, providing training and mentoring where appropriate.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
* DCR/BSc in Diagnostic Radiography.
* Certificate of Competence in Mammography.
* Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
* Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
* Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex or distressing news sensitively.
* Good organisational and planning skills and ability to make decisions.
* Basic computer skills and experience of quality assurance programmes.
* Commitment to quality standards, flexibility, and reliability.
Desirable Qualifications & Skills
* Previous experience in the NHS Breast Screening Programme.
* Experience of mentoring, training or health promotion.
* Counselling qualification.
* Desire to undertake further education.

Disclosure and Barring Service check required under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1975. Skilled‑worker sponsorship may be considered if required.
Contract: Fixed term, 12 months, part‑time. Salary: £39,959 – £48,117 per annum (pro‑rata).
