Job Summary
We are seeking to appoint a Locum Consultant Neuroradiologist at Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH). This post is to support the increasing local and regional demand for neuro‑imaging. The successful applicant will share responsibility with 14 diagnostic neuroradiologists and 4 interventional radiologists for the provision of all aspects of neuro‑imaging within our Trust, with possible future expansion to other Trusts in the regional network.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist neuroradiology services, including MRI, CT, possible ultrasound and plain‑film examinations.
* Contribute to the neuroradiology team at NUH and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
* Cover on‑call duties in the neuroradiology rota (frequency 1:8) and provide weekend service.
* Support surrounding district general hospitals and participate in radiology teaching and audit.
* May be required to rotate to a new Community Diagnostic Centre at City Centre opening 2025.
Qualifications & Professional Registration
* Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) or equivalent.
* Full GMC registration.
* Eligible to be included on the Specialist Register.
* Certified Clinical Training (CCT) expected within 6 months of interview or reasonable prospects of a CESR within 1 year.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Evidence of technical skills in neuroradiology.
* Effective communication with patients, families and other health professionals.
* Ability to perform ultrasound neck imaging with FNA/ core biopsy.
* Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and in a team.
* Experience of teaching, audit and research within radiology.
* Safeguarding Children Level 3 evidence.
Desirable
* MRCP, MRCS or other professional degrees.
* Specific training in communication skills, patient safety or human factors.
* Specialist neuroradiology training.
* Higher management or teaching qualifications or a track record in radiology research.
Practical Requirements
* Ability to travel between City Hospital Campus and Queen’s Medical Centre campus.
* Disclosure and Barring Service check required.
Contract & Salary
Contract: Locum – 12 months, Full‑time, Consultant grade. Salary: £109,725 to £145,478 per annum.
