Shift pattern: 12-hours 2xDays, 2xNights and 4xRDO

What you will do
As a Shift Technical Specialist, you'll play a key role in supporting the manufacturing of Tinplate, Pickled & Oiled, and Galvanised products. Your work will help ensure our processes run smoothly, our quality stays high, and our teams have the data and insight they need to make informed decisions.
Day-to-day, you will:
* Carry out monitoring, sampling and testing across our product and process areas.
* Produce accurate reports, clearly communicating results and where required initiating follow‑up actions.
* Lead detailed technical investigations using advanced analytical techniques such as ICP, UV, AA, XRF, tensile testing and metallography.
* Track process and product performance, ensuring manufacturing teams are kept informed of any trends, issues or improvements.
* Provide essential analytical support to manufacturing cells, supporting consistent, efficient, and high-quality production.
This role is hands‑on, analytical, and central to keeping our operations running at a high standard.
What you will need
We're looking for someone with strong technical foundations and a passion for problem‑solving. You'll ideally bring:
* HNC-level qualification in Chemistry, Metallurgy or a related scientific/technical field.
* Solid understanding of laboratory testing and sampling procedures.
* Familiarity with plant operations and process terminology.
* Experience using analytical equipment and interpreting technical data.
* Confidence using mainframe systems and software such as databases or spreadsheets (advantageous but not essential).
* Strong communication skills – you'll be working closely with manufacturing teams, support specialists, managers, suppliers and occasionally customers.
