At Rick Stein, we’re passionate about sourcing, preparing, and delivering the highest quality seafood. Our fisheries site is at the heart of what we do, supplying our restaurants and customers with exceptional fresh produce.
We’re now looking for a Seasonal Fishmonger to join our team during our busy periods. This is a hands-on role where you’ll play a key part in preparing and handling fresh fish and seafood to the highest standards.

What you’ll be doing
• Preparing, filleting, and portioning fish and seafood to company standards
• Handling fresh produce with care, ensuring quality and freshness at all times
• Supporting the daily operations of the fisheries site, including deliveries and dispatch
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety (HACCP)
• Assisting with packing and labelling products for distribution
• Monitoring stock levels and supporting stock rotation (FIFO)
• Working efficiently to meet demand during peak seasonal periods
• Following all health and safety procedures, including safe knife handling
• Working closely with the wider team to ensure smooth operations
What we’re looking for
• Previous experience as a fishmonger, chef, or in food production (preferred but not essential)
• Willingness to learn and develop fish preparation skills
• A positive, reliable, and hardworking attitude
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
• Comfortable working in chilled environments
• Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and busy seasonal periods
• Strong awareness of hygiene, food safety, and safe working practices

Stein’s Fisheries opened in 2012 selling fresh fish, shellfish and pre-prepared seafood dishes, as well as lobsters, crabs, fishcakes, seafood salads, salmon, prawn and crab sandwiches. Recently a casual seafood bar was introduced to sit alongside our fish counter, where customers can tuck into some of the best seafood from our shores and some of Rick’s favourite wines.
