An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Registered Nurse to work within the Tissue Viability Service in Bedfordshire. The post holder will be responsible for the safe and effective care in the ongoing assessment, Doppler, and hosiery/compression care for community patients with venous disease. They will also be responsible for holistic assessments in non‑healing wounds and formulation of care plans in collaboration with the Wound Care or Tissue Viability Nurse. The post is based at Grove View Health Hub, Dunstable, and is part‑time: 0.5 WTE (18.75 hours).
Main duties of the job
The post holder will support the delivery of student/nurse education within the leg ulcer clinics and in the community. A UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are required to carry out duties.
Person Specification
Education
* Educated to Degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent level of qualification or significant equivalent previous proven experience
Experience
* Experience of face‑to‑face contact with the public
* Experience of working in a team
Knowledge
* Ability to work without supervision and to organise and prioritise workloads to changing and often tight deadlines
* Skills for communication with patients and the Tissue Viability team members, inside and outside the organisation, requiring interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
* Basic knowledge of Tissue Viability
Other
* Good standard of literacy – able to write clear reports
* Access to a car to drive across the county as required
* Excellent time management skills with the ability to re‑prioritise
