Job Title: Child Protection Social Worker Agency: Service Care Solutions Location: Barrow-in-Furness Contract: 3-month contract, ongoing Pay Rate: £45.46 per hour umbrella £39.89 PAYE (inclusive) £35.59 PAYE (exclusive) Job Overview Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting an experienced Child Protection Social Worker to work with a Local Authority Children’s Services team based in Barrow-in-Furness. The role sits within frontline Child Protection services and requires an experienced practitioner who can manage complex safeguarding cases effectively. Key Responsibilities Undertake statutory Child Protection and Child in Need work Complete assessments in line with the Children Act 1989 & 2004 Prepare and present reports for Child Protection Conferences and Court Manage a caseload of children and families with complex safeguarding concerns Develop, implement, and review care and protection plans Undertake risk assessments and respond to safeguarding concerns promptly Work collaboratively with partner agencies including Health, Police, Education, and Early Help Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case records Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, reviews, and supervision Essential Requirements Qualified Social Worker Registered with Social Work England Recent Child Protection experience within a Local Authority Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance Experience of court work and care proceedings Excellent assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced frontline children’s team Enhanced DBS (Update Service desirable) Why Apply?
