We are seeking an Engineering Team Leader to deliver a world-class, consistent building maintenance service to our stakeholders.
This role will oversee the day-to-day operations of the technical services team, ensuring all maintenance activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Job Description
We are looking for a skilled leader with strong electrical or mechanical qualifications and experience supervising multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
You will play a key role in ensuring maintenance compliance, operational continuity, and a safe working environment across all site activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise a shift team of 4–5 engineers (electrical, mechanical, and fabric).
* Review and evaluate team performance to ensure quality standards are consistently met.
* Assign tasks for reactive works, work tickets and scheduled preventive maintenance.
* Ensure all PMs and work orders are completed on time each month.
* Maintain up-to-date O&M documents, drawings, manuals and operational procedures.
* Manage storage, inventory and disposal of tools, spare parts and service equipment.
* Coordinate contractors and vendors, ensuring safe access, escorting and site compliance.
* Support operational changes such as critical switching and Lockout/Tagout processes.
* Assist with evaluating subcontractor quotes and supporting facility project planning.
* Provide required data for reports, equipment evaluations and contractor scopes of work.
* Ensure compliance with company, client and regulatory policies across the engineering team.
* Act as a problem solver on shift and support 24/7 emergency and corrective activities.
Professional and Personal Competencies / Qualifications
* Background in facilities management, covering reactive tasks and PPMs.
* Experience overseeing or leading a small engineering team.
* Strong problem‑solving skills and confident delegating tasks.
* Fully electrically qualified (18th Edition, C&G/NVQ Electrical Installations) or mechanical qualifications (Gas/AC).
* Experience with subcontractor and vendor management.
* Ability to manage KPIs, capacity planning and reporting.
* Proficient in using hand tools, test equipment and maintenance best practices (Journeyman level).
