Research Fellow (Speech and Language Therapy)


We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to support the delivery of an exciting new Health and Care Research Wales funded research project in the field of children's speech development and disorder. We will be working with the Welsh Health Boards to develop a process for routine collection of baseline and outcome data for children referred to speech and language therapy with speech sound disorder.

You will play a key role in:

* The delivery of the MISLToe research study at the Centre of Speech, Hearing, and Communication Research, working closely with researchers and clinicians to support ongoing and future project developments.
* The effective coordination and delivery of the study, ensuring targets are met in line with the aims of the Centre.
* Tesearch delivery, including data analysis and interpretation, paper writing, and contributing to the development of the impact pathway.
* Supporting professional engagement across internal and external stakeholders
* The preparation of new grant applications, enhancing the research profile of the Centre and supporting future growth and innovation in this area.

What you'll bring

With a background in speech and language therapy or related clinical or academic fields and experience to doctoral level, you will be an excellent communicator and easily able to engage with a variety of stakeholders. You will have an interest in the field of speech and language development, communication disorders or health services research and motivated towards a research career.

You will bring

* Excellent team working experience
* Ability to work effectively with researchers and collaborators who are geographically dispersed
* knowledge of speech and language therapy services in Wales
* Solid understanding of a range of research methodologies and knowledge of how to apply them
* Superb time management and resource management skills
* Ability to work independently and use intuition for when to seek support and guidance from others in the team
