Role
Senior Support Worker – The Cambian Group, the largest independent provider of care and education for children and young people. The young people in our care range between ages 8-18 with behavioural and emotional needs. We are looking for enthusiastic, energetic, flexible and caring people to join our team across the South West region to continue improving the lives of the young people within our care.
Responsibilities
* Leading shifts and deputising for the Registered Manager where required
* Ensuring that our team of Residential Care Workers are up to date with mandatory learning and assisting with their development
* Communicating with the on-site team and raising awareness regarding individual care plans and their implementation
* Maintaining accurate written records in logs, continuation sheets and files to record information and enable monitoring and evaluation
* Contributing to team and staff meetings to facilitate good communication and staff development
* Providing support and care to the young people within our services
* Encouraging young people in preparation to re-enter education or engage in current schooling
* Traveling with young people to and from school or college
* Preparing food at meal times and maintaining the home (cleaning, laundry, etc.) to ensure a positive environment
* Organising and facilitating social activities
Requirements
* Must hold a full UK driving licence
* Desire to earn a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent Children & Young People workforce
* 12 months senior experience in a Residential setting is highly desirable
* DBS and reference checks will be undertaken in line with government regulations and safer recruitment best practice
* Recruitment checks may extend processing time
