We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team here on New Forest Ward.
The nursing team on New Forest has grown over the past two years as a new ward for the trust, specialising in Diabetes and Endocrinology (D&E) combined with acute general medicine.
This role offers opportunities to develop new ways of working, expand your skills, and progress within the team, working collaboratively with colleagues.

We seek highly motivated and innovative Registered Nurses who can work flexible shifts across a 24-hour period, seven days a week.

Working on the ward is both exciting and challenging. You will work closely with MDT colleagues and receive support from your Band 6 coordinator, medical team, and ward manager.

Main duties of the job
1. Ensure high standards of care in line with trust policies and standards.
2. Participate in teaching and foster a learning environment for staff development.
3. Manage transfers and discharges proactively, ensuring safety and timeliness.
4. Guide junior staff on standards of practice.
5. Evaluate new procedures, research, and initiatives for clinical practice integration.
6. Complete admission and discharge documentation promptly.
7. Administer prescribed drugs safely, complying with legal and trust requirements.
8. Act as a senior during shifts when required, coordinating ward activities.
9. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, documenting appropriately.
10. Report and document incidents via Datix, updating relevant records.
11. Engage in clinical supervision development within the ward.
12. Contribute to staff education and serve as an NMC Supervisor and Assessor for students.
13. Carry out clinical investigations to support diagnosis.
14. Develop effective working relationships with colleagues.
