What you will be doing
* Carrying out surveying and setting out duties on site
* Reviewing drawings and quantities to ensure accuracy
* Planning and organising site activities to meet programme deadlines
* Coordinating materials and liaising with procurement teams
* Communicating with consultants, subcontractors, and the wider project team
* Supervising site labour and subcontractor performance
* Ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards
* Maintaining quality records and resolving technical issues
* Arranging material testing and calibration of instruments
* Keeping accurate and detailed site records and diaries
* Identifying and implementing improvements on site
* Supporting the Site Manager and Section Engineer as required
What you will need to succeed
* A degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Project Management
* Proven experience working as a Site Engineer within civil engineering
* Strong setting out and surveying skills
* Excellent communication and coordination abilities
* Experience working on highways, rail, or public realm projects (desirable)
* Familiarity with AutoCAD, GPS, and surveying equipment (desirable)
* Understanding of construction materials and testing processes (desirable)
* Valid CSCS (or equivalent), Health & Safety knowledge, and First Aid certification
