We’re expanding our kitchen team at the Marine Hotel, a 53‑bedroom coastal resort located on Paignton seafront. We need a confident, capable Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in leading the kitchen, driving standards and delivering consistent quality.
This role provides an opportunity to develop leadership skills, influence menu direction and gain hands‑on experience in a supportive environment.

Day in the Life of a Sous Chef
What you’ll be doing:
* Cooking food in a timely manner using different methods and techniques
* Ensuring all food is of excellent quality
* Cleaning and sanitising all food preparation areas according to established hygiene standards
* Ensuring appealing plate presentation
* Coaching and developing other team members
Qualifications & Experience
* Level 1 and 2 Food Safety Awards – advantageous
* Level 2 Health and Safety in the Workplace Award – advantageous
* Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role – Chefs de Partie welcome!
* Strong communicator with a friendly and pleasant personality
* Excellent people skills with the ability to engage with staff
