Responsibilities:
Oversee the end-to-end management of Traffic Signal Installation schemes and traffic signal maintenance contracts across the North West of England.
Take responsibility for, and ownership of on-street operatives and supervisors, ensuring Health & Safety standards, quality, and project/maintenance deliverables are met, aligning our operations to both contractual and customer expectations.
Produce and present (to our customers) monthly key performance indicator (KPI) reports for maintenance contract and/or projects, taking action to drive improvements and maintain customer satisfaction.
Ensure compliance to company polices in regards to site auditing of operatives and sub-contractors, and other local management audits are adhered to.
Plan and work with your team effectively to meet our customers expectations and requirements. This includes the planning of both planned and reactive tasks covered within the relevant service level agreement (SLA).
Proactive and reactive management of your teams workload. Management of last-minute changes in a positive and constructive manner.
Work closely with contractors and supply chain partners to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and safe service delivery.
Instruct, manage and oversea sub-contractors who may be supporting our operations and delivery work; from the raising of purchase orders through to the approval of payments, you will own the end-to-end process.
Drive team performances, competence and knowledge development through regular reviews, setting objectives, requesting training and providing ongoing support.
Build and maintain a positive relationship with your customer base e.g. planning, co-ordinating and managing contract meetings. Represent your team confidently in pre-contract and customer review meetings.
Collaborate with Finance teams to manage scheme costs, mitigate financial risks, support timely invoicing and ensure non-conformance costs are minimised.
Assist with producing monthly financial forecasts across your maintenance contracts, minor chargeable works (those generated from the maintenance contracts) and installation projects and schemes.
Engage with internal stakeholders such as Tendering Managers, Regional Sales Manager, and Finance partners to ensure application production, invoicing and quoting activities are completed within the agreed contractual timescales.
Ensure operative training is kept up to date and compliant with National Highways Sector Scheme through proactive collaboration and dialogue with the regional NHSS8 co-ordinator.
Contribute to business improvement initiatives at both local and national levels.
Involvement with HR topics such as Capability, Sickness, and Performance management within your team.
Adopt, roll out and promote new business policies and processes in a positive way.
Any other duties reasonably requested within the skills required for the role, to enable a seamless service delivery.
Qualifications & Experience:
Degree, HNC/HND, apprenticeship or relevant qualification in civil engineering and/or the highways sector
Team and people management experience (15-30 persons)
Commercial, contract and project management experience
Experience of working with multiple customers, contracts and projects at the same time
IOSH, NEBOSH or similar Health and Safety Qualification
Relevant qualification OR experience equivalent to the above
