The role
requires an experienced assessor (or recently qualified) with experience of working in a Childrens Care, Play, Learning and Development setting.
Your daily routine will:
1. Support the team to liaise with employers and staff to identify new opportunities for learners, such as suitable placements, source apprentices and engage with new employers to recruit apprentices onto programmes with NPT Skills & Training.
2. Deliver sessions both in centre or off-site, based on course or qualification requirements, to learners.
3. Assess learner skills/competence and technical knowledge to recognised national standards and provide feedback appropriately to ensure learner achievement and development.
4. Manage an allocated caseload of learners, ensuring they are fully inducted, reviewed, supported and meet the expectations of the programme.
5. Ensure that you complete all required documentation in place for the monitoring and achievement of learner’s goals and qualifications.
Do you have:
6. An NVQ/QCF certificates/qualifications or equivalent in childcare, early years, play and development.
7. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a supervisory or management position within a childcare/early years setting.
8. Possess TAQA/A1 or similar assessor award
9. Experience of delivering training to pupils, young people and/or adults in a class environment and/or in the workplace
10. Experience of delivering work-based learning/vocational and knowledge qualifications and assessment/quality assurance of qualifications.

11. There are up to 30 hours available for this vacancy and we are keen to hear from applicants that are interested in full or part time work.
12. Access to own vehicle/transport is essential as the role will require some travel across Neath Port Talbot and into neighbouring local authority areas on occasions.
13. This is a temporary position to cover a staff absence. Notice period provided will be 1 month.
Competences and qualifications in similar/other sectors would also be advantageous.
