Your new companyYou will be joining a well-established and highly respected civil engineering contractor based in Birmingham recognised for delivering high-quality infrastructure projects across the Midlands. This multi-accredited contractor is well-known for their commitment to quality, safety and innovation as well as valuing its people and investing in their professional development. They have a strong pipeline of work, offer excellent opportunities for career progression and, as part of their continued growth, they are actively seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Birmingham office with frequent site visits in Warwickshire.
Your new roleAs Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for a significant element of a major heavy civils scheme in Warwick. You will ensure robust cost control, risk management and commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Full commercial management of a large-scale civil engineering project
* Preparation and management of budgets, forecasts and cost value reconciliation
* Procurement and management of subcontractors and supply chain partners
* Administration of contracts, variations, valuations and final accounts
* Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff
* Working collaboratively with engineering, planning and site teams to drive value and mitigate risk

What you'll need to succeedIn order to be successful, you will bring:
* Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying (or similar qualification) or experience equivalent
* Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within heavy civils
* Sound working knowledge of NEC form of contract, ideally Option A
* Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
* Experience managing subcontractors, commercial risk and project cashflow
* Full UK driving licence.
