The Opportunity
Reporting to the in vivo manager, you will provide support in running animal studies and downstream analysis on-site. This is a hands-on role with significant responsibility, requiring performing molecular biology assays at high throughput, performing immunohistochemistry protocols, and conducting procedures on animals.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform procedures with animals, such as dosing (including PO, IP, SC, IM) and tissue dissections
* Perform immunohistochemical techniques such as tissue processing, sectioning, antibody staining and imaging
* Perform molecular biology techniques such as qPCR, RT-PCR, DNA/RNA extractions and protein assays at high throughput
* Process, analyse, and present data
* Deliver quality work within project timelines
* Manage workload with minimal supervision
Candidate Profile
Essential:
* The ideal candidate will be educated to bachelor’s degree level in biology, chemistry, or a related field with 2+ years’ related industry experience, or other relevant experience from within a research setting
* Experience of working with rodents
* Motivated to learn and develop new techniques
* Enthusiastic and positive attitude
* Ability to present data confidently and clearly, both verbally and through written reports
* Experience of working with rodents
* Strong organisational and planning skills
Desirable
* Experience with cryosectioning, microtomy and immunohistochemical techniques
* Experience in molecular biology, particularly qPCR, RT-PCR, DNA/RNA extractions.
