Overview
Jacobs is expanding its Energy & Power Solutions team to address the rapid changes in commercial market sectors shifting from fossil fuels to clean energy sources. We seek a project manager/technologist to lead project development in our energy transition portfolio on the West Coast, creating innovative projects to accelerate energy transition across North America.
Key Projects
* Energy master planning for decarbonization and resiliency
* High voltage transmission, substations, and distribution facilities
* Hydrogen production, distribution, and end-use facilities
* District Energy Systems
* Geothermal Energy Systems and Infrastructure
* Wind, Solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates will have experience in delivering projects in these categories, with a broad understanding of energy transition solutions. Experience in client development, consulting, design, construction, EPC project delivery, Owner’s Engineer, or advisory roles is highly valued, along with strategic project development experience.
Primary Responsibilities
* Manage internal teams and external consultants and contractors
* Work with clients to address energy transition challenges and decarbonization goals
* Collaborate with technical leadership, client managers, and sales teams on strategic pursuits
* Manage project risks, budgets, schedules, scope, and quality
* Develop and pursue new business opportunities
* Support proposals and business development efforts
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
* Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
* Proven ability to develop client relationships and deliver innovative solutions
* Knowledge of new and emerging energy technologies
* Strong communication and technical writing skills
* Experience with multidisciplinary teams and working independently or collaboratively
* Willingness to travel as needed
Preferred Qualifications
* Professional Registration
* Experience with hydrogen facilities, high voltage substations, thermal utility plants, utility planning, renewable energy projects, etc.
Additional Details
This role can be remote, in-office, or hybrid, with a preference for candidates on the West Coast, especially California.
