External Examiner

We are looking for an External Examiner to join our Centre for Learning Innovation and Quality team,
We are looking for suitably qualified and experienced EAP teaching professionals to act as National External Examiner, responsible for the annual examination and reporting of the following module:
* English for Academic Purposes module across Kaplan International Pathways colleges and on Kaplan Digital Pathways, taken by students on Foundation Certificate (Level 3), International Year One (Level 4) and Pre-Master’s level programmes.
This will commence in the 2025–26 academic year and will initially be for one year, with the possibility of extension for up to a maximum of four academic years.
Suitable candidates will typically hold a postgraduate qualification in education or English language teaching (e.g., MA in Applied Linguistics, Cambridge Delta, or Trinity DipTESOL), and/or have significant experience in teaching, managing, or developing English for Academic Purposes (EAP) within a university or similar academic context.
Assessment of the modules will take place at the end of the Spring term, with written examiner reports due in July. Report preparation will include an audit of a sample of assessed student work.
Full induction, previous examiners’ reports, and all other relevant materials will be provided by CLIQ.
The selected examiner will be engaged on a freelance/contractor basis, with an annual remuneration of £750.
