Role Overview You will be based predominantly at the Royal Preston Hospital and facilitate the delivery of high‑quality Gastroenterology across both sites at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, with rotating in‑reach provision to Chorley General Hospital. You will join a team of 7 Gastroenterology Consultants and participate in a return to site GI bleeding rota (1 in 7). We welcome applications from those looking to work either full time or less than full time.
Responsibilities
Provide direct input to patients on the gastroenterology ward (Ward 24) at Royal Preston Hospital, support resident doctors and advanced clinical practitioners covering ward referrals and Gastroenterology in‑reach to the Emergency Department, and provide Gastroenterology in‑reach to Chorley Hospital on a rotational basis.
Participate in specialty multidisciplinary meetings, regular governance and specialty business meetings.
Promote high professional standards of clinical care for patients, through direct patient care and the maintenance of continuing professional development.
Develop close links with local General Practitioners and community allied health professionals to support patient care across providers.
Support postgraduate and undergraduate education, providing endoscopy training, supervising clinics and on the ward, and participating in clinical and educational supervision.
