Role & Responsibilities
1. Take day-to-day responsibility for the trading and optimisation of a key website, working under the guidance of the Digital Trading Manager.
2. Own and deliver detailed trade reporting (daily, weekly, monthly), using insights to identify performance drivers and propose action plans to hit key sales and contribution targets.
3. Oversee the execution and coordination of all on-site campaigns, promotional activity, and content changes – managing timelines and critical paths to ensure smooth delivery.
4. Liaise with wider teams to align digital trading activity with marketing, content, and customer acquisition strategies.
5. Act as a super-user and internal expert for digital trading tools and platforms – ensuring best use across the team, training colleagues, and feeding into roadmaps for improvements and upgrades.
6. Lead or contribute to cross-functional digital trading initiatives aimed at enhancing performance, customer experience and conversion.
7. Coordinate seasonal and evergreen content planning to drive SEO and on-site engagement.
8. Support the continuous improvement of product content, working with relevant teams to identify and resolve issues quickly to protect sales.
9. Take an active role in people management – including line management of Trading Assistants – setting clear objectives, providing development support, and helping build a motivated, collaborative team.
10. Represent digital trading priorities and KPIs across wider business functions and teams.
Qualifications & Experience
11. Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in a similar digital or eCommerce trading role, ideally within retail or a consumer-facing brand.
12. Demonstrable experience managing or mentoring junior team members.
13. Advanced knowledge of tools such as Google Analytics, Contentsquare, and Excel; confident using data to inform trading decisions.
14. Proficient in managing trading through modern eCommerce platforms and content management systems.
15. Proven track record of identifying day-to-day trading improvements that drive measurable results.
16. Highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive – capable of managing multiple deadlines and shifting priorities.
17. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to represent digital KPIs effectively across teams.
