The School and Role
I am looking for experienced and resilient QTS teachers to join our team as tutors, supporting students who do not access a traditional school setting.
In this rewarding role, you will work closely with children and young adults in their homes, local libraries, or community centres, helping to re-engage them with education and fostering a love for learning. Many of the pupils face unique challenges that prevent them from accessing traditional school environments—ranging from behavioural issues to high-functioning anxiety or disabilities that require home-based learning. As a tutor, your primary goal will be to create engaging, personalised learning sessions tailored to each pupil’s developmental stage, building positive relationships with both learners and their families.
Supporting disengaged pupils requires a multifaceted approach, beginning with establishing trust. Understanding the underlying causes of disengagement is key to creating an effective, personalised learning plan. Tutors must set clear, achievable goals and use motivational techniques to foster enthusiasm for learning. Incorporating interactive, relevant materials helps make the learning process more appealing, while regular communication with parents or guardians ensures a consistent support system is in place.
Patience and flexibility are essential, as progress can be gradual. Tutors need to adapt their methods based on the student’s evolving needs, encouraging self-reflection and persistence. If you’re a dedicated educator passionate about inspiring students and making a real difference in their lives, we’d love to hear from you. Join us and help learners reconnect with their education.
