This is a great opportunity to join a specialist Tax Governance team at a relatively early stage and to play a key role in its growth and development. This Big 4 firm has hired a new Partner within the past 12 months with a remit to build out a specialist Tax Governance offering for the firm and their clients. The initial phase of this is complete, with the core of a nationwide team now in place, but they are now looking to hire a Manager and Senior Manager into the London office to assist with the continued growth and progression of the team. Unlike some of their competitiors, this team will work across all sectors and offer exposure to a diverse portfolio of clients across UK listed, PE backed, multinationals, inbound and family-owned groups.
You will be working as a key member of the team to further develop and expand the firm's tax governance offering, including advising clients on:
* Identifying and managing tax risks across the globe.
* Building sustainable tax control frameworks to meet global tax authority requirements.
* Identifying the tax risks within tax transformation and technology projects.
* Senior Accounting Officer and Corporate Criminal Offence compliance.
* HMRC business risk review preparation.
* Developing and documenting their tax strategy and its publication.
* Meeting global tax transparency and ESG requirements.
* Liaising with HMRC on tax governance related matters
* Leveraging tax technology to improve risk management and compliance processes.
* Liaising with specialists in the UK and overseas offices to oversee their input into projects.
You will need to be a qualified accountant and/or tax specialist (ACA, ACCA, CTA) with a grounding in corporation tax, and practical / demonstrable experience of working on tax governance projects such as those listed above (ie. SAO, CCO, ESG etc). You might be working in another accounting firm or in an in-house tax team and we are very open to applicants from both. This quite an "applied" role and so you will need to have strong communication skills (confidence to lead workships and training) and the ability to understand xommercial implications and practical issues of implemenntation. As part of a relatively new function, you will need to be pro-active in identifying and progressing business opportunities.
The roles would ideally be based in London but other locations will also be considered.
