Staff Nurse - Endoscopy

We have exciting opportunities for a Registered Nurse (RN) or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) to join our JAG‑accredited Endoscopy Unit within Princess Anne Day Surgery and Endoscopy Unit. This role covers both substantive and fixed‑term maternity cover posts, and may include cross‑site working across Gloucestershire sites. Knowledge of JAG standards and JET training would be beneficial, but is not essential, as a comprehensive training package is available for the right candidate.
Main responsibilities
* Care for patients throughout the endoscopy journey: admission, preparation, assisting with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, recovery, discharge and aftercare.
* Support the smooth day‑to‑day running of the unit, ensuring high clinical standards, excellent patient experience and safe use of equipment.
* Participate in endoscope care and decontamination processes following appropriate training.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and contribute to service development, quality improvement and continuous learning.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner.
* Ongoing CPD.
* JET's ENDO 1.
Experience
* Post‑registration clinical experience.
* Experience in endoscopy, theatres, day surgery or similar acute clinical setting.
* Multidisciplinary team working.
* Day Surgery experience.
