Joint Senior Environmental Health Officer (Environmental Protection) – Regulatory Services
Location: The Burys, Godalming, Surrey / Full-time
Salary: £51,634 - £55,331 (pay award pending)
About the Role
You will have the opportunity to undertake diverse and interesting work while being actively supported in your career development. You will work within the multi‑disciplinary Regulatory Services, which includes all Environmental Health disciplines, Licensing, Emergency Planning and Neighbourhood Enforcement.
On a Typical Day
On a typical day, you would:
* investigate complaints and enquiries relating to statutory nuisance and public health.
* act as a statutory consultee for planning and licensing applications, providing advice to mitigate foreseeable issues that would impact the community.
* undertake visits, investigations and gather evidence to support the escalation of enforcement action.
* support colleagues and partners, sharing technical and legal knowledge and experience.
* lead projects and be the Council’s subject expert.
About You
* You are a qualified Environmental Health Officer with extensive experience in Environmental Protection enforcement.
* You are self‑motivated and enthusiastic, with strong organisational skills.
* You approach challenges with a problem‑solving mindset and determination to see each case through to a successful conclusion.
* You have experience in the escalation of enforcement action for non‑compliance with the law.
