Overview
The post holder will be an identifiable senior member of the team who supports duties as a coordinator and team leader, with excellent clinical knowledge and professional behaviour. This role will deliver care to our high standards and lead, support and manage specific projects and audits, creating action plans and communicating effectively across the ward.
Responsibilities
* Manage day‑to‑day staffing arrangements and rotas, ensuring safe levels of practice and acting as shift coordinator where appropriate.
* Ensure staff adhere to Trust protocols of care, including Infection Control.
* Lead the ward team in providing high‑quality, patient‑centred care and support patient safety initiatives such as falls prevention and safeguarding.
* Organise patient care and rehabilitation for patients with neurological disorders through a multi‑disciplinary team approach.
* Conduct and support audits to enable the improvement of IPC, CDS and medication management, and ensure proper handling of storage and use of high‑risk drugs.
* Provide training and support for all ward team members, fostering continuous professional development.
* Maintain and support high standards of nursing care, reviewing these standards with the Ward Manager.
* Report any risks or issues to the Ward Manager and ensure all local and Trust‑wide policies are followed.
* Ensure the confidentiality of patient information at all times in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1984.
