Job Description: Technical Support Engineer
Reporting to: Sales Director
The Company
Instrument Technology Ltd (ITL Vacuum) is a UK-based business manufacturing, sourcing, and supplying standard and non-standard vacuum components, fittings, and vessels across industries such as Semiconductor, Research, Energy, Medical, and Industrial vacuum sectors.
Scope
You will manage the drawing office and assess all incoming enquiries. Oversee new jobs to ensure proper review for production release. Collaborate with production and purchasing to evaluate products for manufacturing or outsourcing.
Responsibilities
* Assess customer enquiries and prepare quotes, working with purchasing to identify suitable suppliers.
* Understand production loadings and techniques to provide information for quoting.
* Prepare production documentation, billing, and routing for non-standard items.
* Review and approve technical drawings.
* Coordinate with planning and production on custom projects, ensuring timely release based on customer requirements.
* Liaise with operations to implement improvements.
* Conduct technical reviews of standard products and evaluate outsourcing options.
* Support the sales team with technical assistance.
* Ensure compliance with H&S standards in your area.
The Person
* Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering or manufacturing.
* Excellent communication skills and professional conduct.
* Strong organizational skills.
* Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
* Attention to detail to promote quality and a "right first time" approach.
* Logical and systematic working approach.
* Ability to plan, oversee, and deliver projects successfully.
* Team player with motivational skills.
Working hours
40 hours per week, Monday-Thursday 8:00 am to 4:45 pm, Friday 8:00 am to 3:30 pm. Full-time, permanent position based in Hastings, Sussex.
