BENCH JOINER
Reporting to: Manager
Location: Mallusk, Newtownabbey
Hours of work: Monday-Thursday, 37.5 hours per week
Purpose of Role
Responsible for producing high-quality products, including door frames and screens, using various hand and mechanised tools.
Main Responsibilities
1. Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
2. Manufacture and assemble joinery components.
3. Read and interpret workshop/design drawings and schedules.
4. Operate required machinery, including hand tools, saws, and spindle moulders.
5. Ensure quality standards are met and maintained.
6. Complete all paperwork in line with Quality Management Systems.
7. Assist in the wood machinery shop.
8. Demonstrate knowledge of timber.
9. Possible site visits for surveying or repair work.
10. Perform other duties as required.
Essential Criteria
* Previous workshop experience.
* Attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organisational skills, and determination.
* High degree of initiative and self-motivation.
* Flexibility and willingness to work some evenings and weekends.
* Ability to work well within a team.
Desirable Criteria
* NVQ Level 3 (or City & Guilds equivalent) in joinery.
