Responsibilities
* Meet expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
* Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients, consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice.
* Address increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families appropriate to their level of practice.
* Administer medications and treatments using the appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
* Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided accurately.
* Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identify issues and resources.
Job Requirements
Education/Skills
* Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
Experience
* At least 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
* BLS required.
* RN License in the state of employment or a compact license.
Position Requirements
Education/Skills
* All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
* Precepted by trained staff; initial onboarding validated through competency assessments.
* Complete all annual competency requirements.
Experience
* Perioperative RN Residency or recent OR/Perioperative experience preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
* Current ACLS certification required.
All certifications must be obtained within the specified grace periods based on experience level, as per policy.
