Project Manager - (TALENT POOL)
Location: Remote (must be able to work to East and Central Africa time zones, with around 10% of time on project sites)

About This Talent Pool
We are creating a Project Manager talent pool for upcoming and anticipated work in East and Central Africa, notably Somalia, Kenya, Ethiopia, and Mozambique.

About the role
Project Managers play a central role in the successful delivery of projects across aid, security and development contexts, often in fragile and conflict-affected settings.
* End-to-end project management, from mobilisation to close-out
* Day-to-day coordination of technical advisory teams and consultants
* Budget oversight, financial forecasting and value-for-money monitoring
* Risk management, including maintaining risk registers and liaising with security teams
* Donor and stakeholder engagement, including regular client communication
* Oversight of monitoring, evaluation, learning and reporting requirements
* Supporting recruitment, onboarding and people management where required
* Contributing to organisational learning and future opportunities
About you
We are keen to hear from Project Managers who bring strong technical capability and the ability to operate flexibly in complex environments.
* Experience in project management within the aid, security and/or development sectors
* Experience managing projects funded by bilateral or multilateral donors (e.g. FCDO, EU, UN agencies, World Bank, USG)
* Strong budgeting, financial management and risk management skills
* Confidence working with diverse, multi-national teams and stakeholders
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* A proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach
* Comfort working remotely across time zones and travelling to field locations
* Strong IT skills, particularly across MS 365, including Excel
* Languages: Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in regional languages is a bonus
