About the Role
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist college in Rotherham for an experienced and passionate SEN Lecturer to support students with moderate to complex learning difficulties. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact by delivering engaging and accessible Entry Level Maths and English lessons tailored to individual learner needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons in Entry Level Maths and English
* Support students with a range of moderate and complex learning difficulties, including autism and associated needs
* Develop and implement Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and track student progress
* Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
* Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and other professionals
* Use a variety of teaching strategies to promote engagement, independence, and confidence
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews and assessments
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) / PGCE / equivalent teaching qualification
* Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly moderate to complex needs
* Strong understanding of Entry Level Maths and English curriculum
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting learners with additional needs
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
Desirable
* Experience within a further education or specialist college setting
* Knowledge of EHCPs and person-centred planning
* Team Teach or other behaviour management training
