Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire
Contract Type: Permanent (Term-time)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, term time only
Salary: £25,992 – £27,711 FTE (Actual salary £22,352 – £24,366
The School and Role
Join a vibrant and forward-thinking early years team in a Good-rated primary school in Northamptonshire. The setting features three active classrooms and a separate play space tailored for children needing additional support. The environment is well-resourced with a generous garden and expansive playground used throughout the year.
As an Early Years Practitioner, you will serve as a keyworker—collaborating with the Early Years Teacher to support child-led and structured learning. You’ll contribute to planning, deliver creative, playful activities indoors and outdoors, and maintain a secure, welcoming learning environment. Collaboration and flexibility are essential; staff operate in a supportive team that includes peer planning time, training, and a ‘well-being day’—an extra day off when life doesn’t fit into term time
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must have:
1. A Level 3 Early Years qualification, such as CACHE Level 3 Diploma, BTEC National Diploma, NVQ Level 3, or NNEB Certificate
2. Demonstrated 'good to outstanding' early years practices. You’ll be organised, self-motivated, and adept at fostering positive relationships with children, staff, and families
3. Commitment to safeguarding and supporting each child's well-being.
4. A proactive, resilient approach and the ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team.
