Job Summary
The Food Preparation Worker plays a vital role in ensuring that all food items are prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety. This position involves working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, assisting with the preparation of ingredients, and maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen. Responsibilities
* Prepare and assemble food items according to established recipes and portion sizes.
* Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
* Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
* Collaborate with our kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
* Support serving staff by preparing sandwiches & salads for service and assisting with upselling menu items.
* Monitor food quality and freshness, discarding any expired or spoiled items.
Skills
* Proficient in food preparation techniques with an understanding of culinary practices.
* Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, particularly in a fast-paced environment.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices to ensure hygiene standards are met.
* Basic math skills for measuring ingredients accurately.
* Experience in a kitchen setting is advantageous, including familiarity with various cooking methods.
* Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods.
