Job Description
As a Finance Analyst, you will work within the Submarines Finance Business Support Team, providing financial analysis and insights that improve performance and support strategic decision‑making.

What You Will Be Doing
* Work with the Business Support Team to ensure on‑time delivery of deliverables (reporting, reconciliations, month‑end statutory actuals) and communicate any issues, liaising with Defence HQ, the Finance Service Centre or external auditors when required.
* Support decisions and scenario analysis for the Business and Business Partners, within agreed time‑scales.
* Lead the preparation of forecasts, set timetables, communicate issues, prepare reporting packs and lead consolidation and input into VBM.
* Maximise the use of standardised models, ensuring accuracy, meeting deadlines and compliance.
* Actively collaborate with the business and finance partners to support the Improvement Journey to Process Excellence and proactively engage in improvement activities.
* Participate in and help drive forward the Finance Service Delivery Model to prepare the business for growth and efficiency.
Who We’re Looking For
To succeed you need a background in the following areas.
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA preferred).
* Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
* Experience in forecasting, budgeting and cost accounting.
* Knowledge of financial systems such as SAP/HFM.
* Experience with contract review processes.
* Basic experience in preparing business evaluations/business cases.
