Viltra is a specialist in the design, manufacture and supply of engineered solutions for the reliable and effective treatment of aqueous effluent streams from industrial, commercial and residential premises.As a result of winning contracts with new clients throughout UK and Ireland who share our passion for the protection of the environment, this opportunity has arisen to join our growing engineering team based in Newry, Co. Down.We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with an electrical and instrumentation, and project engineering background, and a passion for the minimisation of impacts to the environment, who wishes to develop and build their career within a busy professional engineering team.This position will involve the design of electrical, instrumentation, plc control and SCADA solutions for effluent treatment plants, and project management of the implementation of manufactured and installed solutions. There will be opportunities for travel to client sites throughout UK and Ireland. Key Responsibilities- Work with Viltra process engineers to develop system control and monitoring philosophies- Design electrical power, and associated controls and safety solutions- Design instrumentation, data logging and data visualisation solutions- Work with suppliers to identify, evaluate and specify electrical and instrumentation components- Produce documentation for internal and external manufacture (specifications, drawings, schedules, test plans etc)- Manage the implementation of agreed solutions to deliver a Viltra quality solution within agreed timescales and costs. This will include the development of project plans, liaison with clients, suppliers, manufacturing and installation teams (inhouse and sub-contract), undertaking reviews of progress, and reporting to the engineering team lead- Ensure that electrical designs and installations meet all relevant regulations pertinent to the plant location- Monitor and keep abreast of latest developments in electrical, controls and instrumentation technologies for effluent treatment plants, and actively contribute to the development of the Viltra technology roadmap e.g. IoT, cloud, automated diagnosticsEssential Qualifications and ExperienceDegree in electrical, automation, mechatronics or related engineering disciplineAt least 2 years experience working in an engineering projects based enterpriseExperience with plc and SCADA hardware and softwareLegal to work in UK and travel within EUFull UK or EU driving licenceDesirable Qualifications and ExperienceFormal qualifications for BS7671Knowledge of biological and chemical effluent treatment technologiesExperience with CAD softwareExperience with using project management softwareExperience of working within an ISO9001 quality management systemPlease send a cover letter and CV to jobs@viltra.co.uk by Friday 10th May 2024.
