About the Role
As a Class 1 Shunter, you will:
1. Assist with general yard duties as needed to maintain site efficiency and safety.
2. Move vehicles from the yard to the workshop for their inspection.
3. Load trailers so they are prepared for their brake tests.
4. Ensure vehicles are clean and tidy by using the designated HGV washing facility.
5. Conduct thorough daily vehicle safety inspections using the company-issued mobile device to ensure optimal vehicle performance and compliance.
6. Stay in regular communication with the transport team to provide updates on your progress and ensure our customers' expectations are met.
7. Attend regular training sessions to stay up to date with the latest industry standards and best practices, continuously enhancing your skills and expertise.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
8. Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
9. Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
10. Forklift License (training can be provided for the right candidate).
11. Passionate about providing excellent customer service.
12. Ability to work to deadlines.
13. Confident, polite, and a team player.
14. Good geographical knowledge.
15. Fit, flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated.
