Electricity Distribution Network Planner

Job Introduction: Planners design our network and work with our Engineers to construct, reinforce, alter, and replace our equipment. The pace is fast, and our customers expect excellent service with minimal impact. We’re looking for a Planner Grade 4 to work Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (job share) at our Northampton or Milton Keynes depot.
To apply you’ll need English and Maths GCSE at Grade C/Level 4 minimum OR Functional Skills Level 2 or above. Evidence of your qualifications is required.
As part of our hybrid working approach this role offers a mix of office and home working. Hybrid working can be considered once initial training is complete and subject to business need.
Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare and deliver new services/alterations/small capital projects
* Carry out onsite meetings
* Work with wayleaves/estates specialists to obtain 3rd party agreements for NGED assets
* Financially review and close projects
* Communicate with customers effectively to manage expectations and resolve queries
* Schedule contracted works
* Communicate with local authorities and external stakeholders
Ideal Candidate
We need you to understand our customers and their needs; strong communication skills are key so you can solve their problems and explain issues clearly. You’ll be in control of your diary, so be resilient, organized and able to prioritise your workload. Team players thrive in this role, and experience using iPads and computers is a must. You will need to be mobile throughout the area as you may be required to undertake standby duties; therefore a full UK driving licence is essential.
You may not possess all the skills required to carry out the role at present but you will have the confidence and ability to reach the necessary standards with appropriate training.
If not already attained you will be required to undertake a Level 2 City & Guilds 2339 qualification and complete TAR (Tasks and Reports), which includes daily diary completion and a number of tasks and reports as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Evidence of English and Maths GCSE at Grade C/Level 4 minimum or Functional Skills Level 2 or above
* Full UK driving licence
* Willingness to undertake Level 2 City & Guilds 2339 qualification and TAR
* DBS check as required by role
