Are you passionate about supporting young people as they prepare for their future beyond school? We are looking for an organised, approachable, and motivated 6th Form Year Manager to join our successful Post-16 team and play a key role in supporting students throughout their Sixth Form journey.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with students, families, and staff to promote high aspirations, positive wellbeing, strong attendance, and successful outcomes.
What “Term Time Plus” Means
This role follows the school calendar, meaning you will work during student term time only, plus an additional 10 days across the year. These additional days are typically used during key periods such as exam results, enrolment, Sixth Form transitions, training, and preparation days.
Although you will not work all year round and your salary is calculated on a term-time basis, your pay is spread evenly across 12 months, providing consistent monthly income while benefiting from extended time off during school holidays.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide pastoral and administrative support to Sixth Form students, helping them navigate academic and personal challenges
2. Monitor attendance, engagement, and academic progress, working with students and families to address concerns
3. Support the Director of Post-16 in developing an aspirational, high-achieving Sixth Form culture
4. Contribute to UCAS processes, post-16 pathways, and transition activities
5. Maintain accurate records and manage Sixth Form administrative systems
6. Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies to support student outcomes
Experience and Knowledge
7. Experience working in an educational or student-focused setting is desirable
8. Knowledge of Sixth Form systems, UCAS, attendance, or pastoral support would be advantageous
9. Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education
Key Skills
10. Strong organisational and administrative skills
11. Excellent written and verbal communication
12. Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure
13. Confident IT skills and willingness to learn new systems (knowledge of SIMS is beneficial but not essential)
